Visual Diary: March 26

Here is a collection of black and white photographs from last Friday during my daily commute. Although, I’d planed to take some images of more notable landmarks in Taipei my memory card became full just from recording daily activities.  This process celebrates the richness of everyday moments and has brought an awareness of local surroundings previously unnoticed/taken for granted.

Visual Diary: March 25th

This week I bought the Nikon D700 camera, Nikon AF DC-NIKKOR 135mm f/2 D, and Nikon 50mm f/1.4 D F1.4 AF Nikkor lenses. These photos are of what I see walking down the street and are meant to convey a feeling of Taipei to those abroad.

The week begins at Haufan University.

My T.A.’s Zack above and Benny below are the best!

Tree sculptures at National Taiwan Normal University (N.T.N.U.)

A statue of Confucius at NTNU.

The Nikon D700 and 135mm f/2 DC lens

Over the past few weeks and until late April things have been super busy around here. There’s my full-time job, preparations for NAEA, paper under-review, and teaching evaluation all crammed together this semester. Unfortunately, I’ve had little time for photography but this has allowed for some self-reflection and professional development. I’ve decided to purchase the Nikon D700 and 135mm f/2 DC lens if possible.

The mighty Nikon D700.

Next year, I’m going to be taking more studio courses and would like to have a sharper fine-art feel. I’d like to purchase the Nikon 135mm f/2 DC lens to capture more bokeh portraits.
