Michaelangelo would have loved to carve you – these shapes are so statuesque.

I’m assuming that these are self-portraits. They feel very intense, deeply personal and have a bittersweet aftertaste. 2007 must have been a very emotionally charged year for you.

    As usual, beautiful photography.

Gorgeous Jo. You’re so beautiful you make me want to cry. Honestly. Please tell me what prompted you to do these photos. What are your thoughts behind them?

I forgot to mention that I love the color. These photos remind of old sepia-colored photographs taken of film stars in the early days. I love the old world quality behind them. I think I just fell in love with you all over again….you never cease to amaze me with passion and creativity.

These photos are self-portraits and they are personal. I took them because I am tiered of how female sexuality is portrayed in the media. To me women can be beautiful and sensual with their clothes on in personal not provocative poses.

This is something I really believe and I want to take more photos like this.

I also like to take photos that obscure the face and provide a bit of mystery to the composition. Even though the body is obscured the mood of the photo is more real.

Yes, Rachelle you are right. 2007 was a bit of an uphill year. Oh well, at least things should get a bit easier now that we are more settled in Taipei.

Carrie, black and white photography is really where I’m at right now. It is harder to produce than color yet is often seen as more simple and authentic. Hopefully my next subject will be you.

Excellent shots. Self-portraits and B&Ws are difficult. Happy New Year.
