HsinChu High Speed Rail Station

The TRA station in HsinChu
Last Friday I had to travel to HsinChu from Taipei for a meeting and had a very small time frame. I left the city at 1pm and was back by 5pm. Under normal circumstances this situation would have been impossible but thanks to Taiwan High Speed Rail I was able to ge to HsinChu from Taipei in 3o minutes!
The traditional Taiwan Railway Administration trains in Taiwan have not served me well. They can be unreliable, late, and sometimes confusing as to which train you should board. Moreover, the TRA trains are much slower than HSR. My journey would have been almost three times as long had I used the ‘fast’ version of the TRA trains. In addition, HSR is state of the art and the train stations are brand new with gorgeous architecture. Using HSR was a fantastic experience and I’m hoping Carrie and I can make it over to Koahsiung with HSR this fall.
