The Non-vacation

This week is my week off from work.

However, I am still burning the candles at both ends and my schdual is overbooked.

Today I got up at 5am to head to the University and I have to go back there tomorrow… and get up at 5am again!

My Chinese class is a killer, but hay at least I have not dropped out. God help me learn the numbers and measure words… ie, er, san,…
Spent some time with Jean, my good firend and language exchange partner. She drove me around Taipei on the back off her scooter and for the moment I enjoyed it.. We went out for Japanese and had a great time. Went shopping last weekend and got some cool threads from the night market. Its getting hotter, (the temperature average is now low of 28, high of 36), so I need new skirts.

Had a good talk on the phone with Quinn. A conversation that I would like to elaborate on later. We both come from small town B.C. and left home at 18 and never looked back. We had a good talk about family, friendship, career, and fulfillment. What I like about Quinn is that he lives life on his own terms and is still kicking it with style, wit, charm, and grace.

Felt sick over the weekend. My nose went through more than two boxes of Kleenexes and is now quite sore. At the moment I’m running off caffeine and bubble tea. Will probably have a salad for dinner and then move onto the paperwork that awaits me. Have a photoshoot for Discover Taipei tomorrow so new photos should be up by Friday.

Sorry that I haven’t made much contact lately. It has also been quite busy on this side. On Monday I decided to escape for a few days by myself to Sun Moon Lake. Iutian joined me last night and we came back together this afternoon. It was a great break. You and R should go there sometime – it is really quite romantic.

    Anyway, hope you’re well.
