Tomorrow I am heading over to Hong Kong for a visa run. Due to the fact that I only have seven days left to stay in the country without a major fine I’m leaving tomorrow and will probably be back to Taipei by evening. It’s too bad I can’t stay for the weekend but I’ve got to work at my new job on Thursday and prepare my classes at the University for Monday.
In the meantime there won’t be much time to blog, fix the server problem with jorees.com, edit that academic article that is due on Friday, exercise, or organise my clothes that are becoming mountainous piles in the bedroom. However, hopefully by this time next week I will finally get to relax….. Oh the luxury of free time!
Needless to say today was quite the day. I just about had a heart attack over the whole visa situation. It was also my first day of teaching classes at the new language school so that added an extra bit of stress. However, my boss and his wife have been so good to us. They really are great people and I feel lucky to work for them. Today my boss took us to the immigration office where he helped us figure out the whole Visa situation. When I saw the immigration officer making winged gestures with his hands I knew it could not be good. Range does not have to go to Hong Kong as his new ARC is already in progress so I will be heading to Hong Kong alone.
Hong Kong is a city that I have always wanted to visit so I am looking forward to this experience. Hopefully I’ll get to take some cool black and white photos and enjoy a brief taste of one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Asia.
