Acceptance, Love, Forgiveness, and Understanding

For the past few days I have been getting back in touch with people from all different facets and parts of my life. The past, the present, the old, the young, the new, the forgotten, rivals, grudges, enemies, old lovers, old boyfriends; people who you were glad never to talk to again, people who you never could admit caring about. It’s really been quite incredible, exciting, and overwhelming. Needless to say I feel very lucky to communicate with such a diverse and dynamic group of people.

So many places and long lost faces! People from all parts of my life have been popping back into the picture thanks to e-mail and this blog. It’s crazy. Even though I am writing from
Taiwan I feel very connected to others on the other side of the world- which is great. At the same time I am also meeting a lot of cool new friends and this blog seems to reference the present and the past.

The underlying message is acceptance, love, forgiveness, and understanding. I always think it is a shame when people let a particular incident, exchange of words, or happening ruin a friendship or personal connection. We live in a disposable society and too often we throw our friendships, or human connections, away like a plastic container that we can replace at the convenience store. Forgive others and forgive yourself. Learn from situations, grow, and change. Don’t be afraid to tell someone that you care about them. If a situation is negative move on. Embrace the positive and make the most out of life.

    “…acceptance, love, forgiveness, and understanding”

I am writing from South Africa, so yes – you do have connectivity everywhere.

Those words touched me profoundly tonight.
    Thank you.
