This is Joanna Rees’s blog

Joanna Rees is focused on creating unique images for personal, commercial, or fine art use. After sharpening her skills as a nightclub photographer Joanna is now focused on the Illinois gallery scene and providing images for private clients.

Joanna’s life is divided into two main areas of focus: photographyand her PhD studies in Art Education at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Joanna is an experienced photographer who has worked in print and publishing for the past seven years. Over time, she has worked for publications ranging from Montreal’s Voir magazine, the Ottawa Citizen newspaper, the Best Western Hotels to Taiwan’s Discover Taipei magazine, Taipei Pictorial magazine, and Verve magazine. A dedicated workaholic, Joanna balances her photography with work as a teaching assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Her research has been published in the International Journal of Education Through Art, the International Journal of Art Education, and the InSEA newsletter.  Joanna was the administrator of the 2nd World Creativity Summit in Taipei, Taiwan and is one of the editors of its proceedings.  Joanna serves on the editorial board for the International Journal of Art Education and is currently incoming co-president of the National Art Education Association (NAEA),  Women’s Caucus with Dr. Elizabeth Delacruz.

Upon finishing her PhD Joanna would like to teach art education to pre-service teachers at a post-secondary institution and encourage others to develop their creativity and leadership within the visual arts.

  • Film for Module 3- Writing with Video March 28, 2012

This dichotomy is unfortunately aligned with the expression “those that can’t do teach”. [... […]
