Man outside the Korean restaurant on a motorcycle for Taiwan Fun magazine

Here are three pictures of a man on a motorcycle who was outside the Korean restaurant Charles and I covered for Taiwan Fun magazine. I shot these photos on slow synch and decided to clean up the right side of the image using Photoshop. Which do you prefer?

The original shot

In this photo you can see how I extended the color of the brown building down into the right corner to put more emphasis on the bike.

A similar photo but from another angle- this shot features more of the restaurant’s exterior.

I like the second shot because it does bring more focus to the bike and your eye isn’t distracted by the license plate in the background. And I like his expression in the first two shots. So proud!

I also like the second one.

Definitely more definition on the second one.

  • Writing With Video Reflection March 31, 2012
Over the past several days I have been reflecting on my progress in Joseph Squier’s Writing with Video course. This semester re-engaging with photography and art/video-making has been […]

  • Film for Module 3- Writing with Video March 28, 2012
For our Writing with Video module 3 I would like to do an extension of my first film and question the relationship between art-making and art education. Within the field practitioners are often encouraged to promote art educational research over art-making practice. This dichotomy is unfortunately aligned with the expression “those that can’t do teach”. [... […]
